Problem with throttle body and intake?

I bought a spectre intake filter, then an adapter for my MAF and was gonna attach it to my old intake tubes. well i ended up not getting what i wanted done so i bought a spectre intake tube from oreillys and cut off my old vacuum tube that attaches to the throttle body and conneted it all together. Well now when i start my truck up, it runs but when i start giving gas, the truck dies. so i thought i had an air leak in my intake. Well i couldnt find a hole, so im not sure what it is. Ifsomeone could tell me something to do to correct this problem?? And i know the reason it dies is cause too much air is going into the engine and the vacuum hoses arent getting enough air out of the intake to ake the flow in and out be even.
